The East Aurora Bird Club was founded in 1958 by a group pf people who had been involved in nature study and birding in East Aurora, NY. The club's purpose is to promote interest in and the study of birds, and encourage environmental awareness and conservation of habitat.

A schedule of birding trips is developed every 6 months, with members sharing responsibilities for arranging details according to their interest and abilities.  Birding outings visit sites such as Tifft Nature Preserve, Iroquois Wildlife Refuge, Niagara River, Grand Island and Canada.  Most trips are for half days on weekday mornings.  Frequency is dependent on time of year; for instance, more trips are planned for spring migration months of April and May.   The schedule also includes informal restaurant meetings/luncheons, a summer pot luck lunch and Christmas party.

Birders of all ages and levels of experience are welcome.  Our emphasis is on learning from each other in an atmosphere of informality and enjoyment of our shared interest.  Those interested are encouraged to join in our informal excursions into the world of birding.
